Visions of Hope 2016
Hope Haven is a place for cancer support group meetings, and they have a Relay for Life SL team called Hope Haven Heroes, which famously did a successful art auction last year as part of their charity effort. I blogged it at the time, and was happy to hear that there is one again, starting today.
Organized by Ricco Saenz and Randy Firebrand, Visions of Hope 2016 is a month long art auction and exhibit in benefit of the Relay for Life of SL. The opening party is today, Saturday 30th of April, at 4pm SLT. The bidding starts then, and runs until May 30th, after which the winners of each piece will be announced.
Sixteen artists have donated their works for the cause: Bijou, Boudicca Amat Ciottolina Xue, d-oo-b, Dru G. Eiren-Milneaux, Em Larsson, Hills, Inara Pey, Mareea Farrasco, Nikolai Warden, Proph, Pusher, Randy Firebrand, Ricco Saenz, Tomais Ashdene, Trinity Yazimoto and Ziki Questi.

PS. The sim is rated adult.

Dip
I had to check out Valaskala, the exhibit by Instincta and Stem van Helsinki. I was kind of just bouncing around jumping off the planets and things until I got down to the whale on the land level. The animation (Animlia) I used for the picture was in their single avatar pose tool diamond. I used region settings for windlight but added a bit of gamma to show you details of the outfit better. Check out this exhibit at LEA19 with the sounds on as they are a big part of the installation. (Pieni wrote about the exhibit on the Galleria Kakku blog).

Pop-Up Art Park
Here is a really special treat for you all. It is the Pop-Up Art Park, by Derry McMahon and Bear Silvershade, at Bay City. It is open for one more week, so go before it is too late. They are only doing a two week stint, as the name of the exhibit implies, and one week has flown by already.
Both artists have their own recognizable style and so much talent. Bear Silvershade uses his imagination and photojournalist skills in creating mysterious, full of feeling images, often in black and white. I have heard him narrating stories in Raglan Shire and according to his artist profile, he does that regularly at Seanchai Library, where Derry is Librarian Emeritus.
Derry makes already lovely scenes look even more special with her keen eye for lighting and detail. Many of her pictures are likely to make you feel good, or feel something deeper in any case than just pleasantness of a nice image. She is showcasing her art at the famous art sim Avalon and is a great narrator, like Bear.
She and I share a space at Raglan Tree Gallery, open until end of this month, still. Bear and Derry both have participated in the popular Raglan Shire Art Walk and have some art on display at Heron Shire, next sim over.

We had a great opening party at the Raglan Tree Gallery
We had a great opening party for our exhibits at the Raglan Tree Gallery, yesterday, with Derry McMahon. So many people came, and showed their support. Keeba and her Tiny Maniacs performed extra well. We got some great feedback for our artworks, and it felt good seeing people take in the fruits of all our hard work. Thank you all so much!
My exhibit is called Felicity. It asks, what your idea of a paradise would be? You can take pictures of you and friends in front of the same backgrounds I used in my artwork. Or just enjoy the pictures I made and think about what you would see in your own happy place.
Derry is showcasing her amazing sheep pictures. They bring such joy to people and are excellent work throughout. I have always loved her art when I have seen it around SL. For example, she has been showcasing during Art Walk at Raglan Shire. I am so proud to share this gallery space with her!
Finally, I need to give a shout out to the awesome Panacea Pangaea, who is curating the Raglan Tree Gallery. She is such great help with set ups and gives so much support. Thank you so much, Pan!
Come and look around, the art is there for August and September, 2015.
Here are the pictures I took during the opening party. Click them for a closer look.
