I could smell the fresh snow

I was lucky enough to get some quality time with my SL uncle Jak Calcutt this Sunday, and he gave me a tour of the Second Pride sim with the amazing new winter decor! It looks so gorgeous, and the atmosphere is just right. I felt like I could smell the fresh snow.

At the landing place there is a big ice rink for skating and parties. Check out the new gallery with the non-profit spaces! You can see the festival globe from here, the big structure with a rotating Christmas tree inside. Look around, there is plenty to see!

Hop on the merry-go-round by the landing, or walk over to the trolley, which will take you on a tour of the sim. It stops at some major landmarks worth seeing.

While on our way to the Santa's village, we came by St.Nicholas and some familiar faces. Uncle Jak said it was difficult to tell me and the other foxes apart.

When we got to Santa, me and him had a serious talk. He promised not to make me sing to him on Christmas eve, like he often has done in Finland to innocent creatures like foxes and small human children. He wanted something in return, so I promised not to bite him this time and to try and avoid hiding under the table when he asks, whether or not I have been a good fox. We shook paws and mittens and I went on my way.

Then Uncle Jak took me to a surprising place! There is a whole Japanese garden on the sim! Once you walk through the gate, you feel, like you are stepping into a magical world of it's own.

Swans and ducks swim in the pond. You can feed the ducks by clicking the feeder box. There are also frogs that leap around on some lotus leaves. And fittingly the dance floor meant for parties is actually made of huge lotus leaves!

Did you notice the shape the stepping stones are lined up in? They mimic the formation a flock of geese flies in, and hence the path is called the "Flying Geese Bridge".

In the middle of the pond, you find yourself on some big rocks deep in thought. An old tree bends it's neck over you. This is a temple for protection and safety.

If you are aware of how traditional Japanese Gardens are built, you will notice that this one is made as authentic as possible. So much research went into the making of this special space, where you feel like everything is the way it should be. Someone has made lines on the sand, like a meditation.

There is a little tea room set up for a traditional ceremony. Make sure to note the moss garden and the old bonsai trees, by the long fence, as well. Did you know that many Japanese gardens have something to remind you of Mount Fuji? Here the mound is for that purpose.

Back to the world outside the garden. In the Memorial Chapel you can light a candle for a loved one, and many people have done so. It is a beautiful space, where one may sit down and have a quiet moment to think about those we have lost. But the space is not too somber. You can think of the good things, too. Nice memories and the special people you shared them with.

When you visit the Auditorium, you may find your first thought to be "wow". The colorful yet elegant, practical yet beautiful look of the space is really wonderful. Jak has been replacing the windows with glass blocks to give the space a new interesting feel. Speaking of replacing, he has also been retexturing some buildings with nice red bricks.

When walking around starts to make you tired, sit down in the gazebo for a hot chocolate and a chat.

Here is a look over the whole sim. Even the sim surround is lovely.
Thanks for a great tour, Jak!

Phil's Halloween Party had some early visitors.

Phil's Halloween Party
This event started at Noon casually and Zho is currently playing tunes for us. The event will go on late into the night with several dj's taking turns.

Remember, VIP~ Gestures and Sundries ( and Phil's HideOut ) HALLOWEEN HUNT 2015 is also still open, and will be for the first week of November. The link goes to my blog post about it, which has more details.

Club Amarantha has an event called "A Touch of Pink for Halloween" today at 5pm SLT.  If you add some pink to your outfit, you are good to go for the theme, the outfit does not have to be completely pink. This is a charity event for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

If you did not yet, make sure to pop by Whitechapel, the Halloween Maze by Badger Albatros. You get there by the left magic door at the Amarantha landing pier. I blogged it with a lot of pictures and a silly poem.

Phil's Haunted Maze

For those who like the spookier side of Halloween, VIP~ Gestures and Sundries ( and Phil's HideOut ) HALLOWEEN HUNT 2015 will be the answer! I may have inside information about one of the creators being scared of going in the maze herself! lol.
Definitely worth a visit. Or seven.

The hunt has gifts by VIP Gestures and Sundries, as well as donated ones by Cake Fox, The Random Fae and Twisted Tanks. (Auxiliary property donated by Kam Carson of BHB RENTALS).

15 free gift pumpkins are located all over the haunted maze and there is even one final bonus pumpkin, if you follow the final destination TP at the end of the maze. I found most of them, but they were pretty sneaky with the hiding places. Which is what you want from a free hunt in a cool maze.

The hunt is completely free, but you can donate, if you like, to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer pink kiosks.

If you like taking pictures in Second Life, this is a great spot to keep the landmark of. They do new sim designs regularly and always make things look extra good. I took some pictures for you but this is just one small bit of the huge area, you will have plenty to see when you get there!

Entry to the maze is via a magic door in the back wall of the club in the round ruins. The hunt will run through the first week of November and you can go any time until then.

The club will have a big party on Saturday 31st of October, starting from Noon SL time and continuing until late at night. Dj's will take turns entertaining people. You are encouraged to invite friends with you.

You can join VIP Gestures and Sundries group for free gifts and information on happenings at the location.

Galleria Kakku Halloween Hunt Maze 2015 benefits Free2Luv.org 100%

I have been working on this project night and day, for well over a week, and I have to say getting donations, in form of prizes and artwork to sell for the cause, was a big boost for my motivation. I truly appreciate everyone's help. I can not wait to hear how you like the maze. Message Pieni inworld to let me know if you take pictures or blog the maze. Thanks!

Galleria Kakku Halloween Hunt Maze 2015 benefits Free2Luv.org 100% and is open 21st-31st October. Hunt gifts are 2L$each and the money goes to charity via script. The event was organized in agreement with the official SL avatar for the charity: Free2Luv Resident.

Hunt prizes include donation items by MayCreations, Instincta Van Helsinki, Rainbow Tinies, and VIP gestures and sundries. The rest of the prizes were made by Galleria Kakku owner Pieni, who also owns the store Cake Fox, which is currently on hiatus.

You can buy art at the hunt starting point, with 100% of proceeds going to the charity. The artworks were generously donated by James Jouvenet, Barcelona Heart and Instincta Van Helsinki.

More details on the hunt in the Galleria Kakku blog post.

Cake! And for a great cause!

I went to the Meshopotamia to check out their newest releases and found all these cakes! This reminded me that there is a special cake sale happening right now, until Friday 2nd of October, 2015.

I unfortunately missed the party yesterday 25th, "the Biggest Coffee Morning in the World!" in support of Macmillan Cancer Support in the UK. How can a cake fox miss out on a cake party? Well by remembering the date wrong. They had music and live performances at an event at the Prim Perfect Headquarters. Among the instances offering entertainment were The Night Theater, Designing Worlds and Radio Riel.

But all is not lost if you too missed out on the party. (Sorry about this late reporting!) They are selling amazing cakes until October 2nd, with the proceeds going to the charity. Every spot to get cake from also has a big drink cup for donations. Like people in the UK do every September, Second life residents are holding cake parties in their homes, places of work, etc. Selling cakes and including the recipy so that you can make your own in the future sounds like a lovely way to support an important cause!

You can help by going over to Prim Perfect and donating, buying cake and inviting friends to do same. If you spot these cake tables elsewhere on the grid, tell people about it! Next year I hope to be more on time with my participation. But at least we can still buy cake! Mmmmm cake!

Release The Tiny Two event at Fantasy Faire

Come Free The Tiny Two at Fantasy Faire Poppetsborough now, 9am SL time, Sunday 3rd. (Last day of Fantasy Faire, btw, so you should come over anyway to check out the pawsome sims, even if you missed this event).

Dramatic imprisoning of two key figures of our tiny community has prompted questions on da authority of da Fantasy faire pawlice and their minions. Da littering charges seem suspishus to say da least. Plus several of da pawlice have obvious fake mustaches.

Did our frilly panties designing cat Clover of Totally Tinies, and designer of both bad paw and pawlice segways and piles of other cool stuff otter Dru of Druscilla's Whim do it? Where ish da proof? Wot you think about da ebil ebil rule of no noms during prison sentence? Eek no cookies! No fair!

Donate donate donate, it is all for good cause, Relay for Life Second Life! And slip some waffles through the bars!
